Computers have become through the years my preferred tool. Thanks to “progress” all of my art time has been absorbed – twisted – enhanced by this body buster brain accessory. The reason I am in the US and not in Italy, where I was born, is the craving for access to this tool. That’s the west, that’s the frontier. My investigations in landscape- the virtual space of 3D computer graphics- have sucked me in. That void attracts me. My landscape is now to investigate the frontier between natural and digital, between real and virtual. The final products of my art these days are digital content with its fantastic potential of reproduction, of growth, and of change. I love photography and photography is still a lot of what I do- except now in 3D, not in reality anymore. And procedural painting is a lot like what I do as well– abstractions, displacements, distortions- the forces of virtual matter, like those of a brush pushing its way over canvas.

Linear Motion

Every moment in time happens at a different point in space. Time is the linear motion- the fourth dimension- in which particles add their own variables to their linear existence. The friction of this motion permeates outward to the other 3 dimensions, producing turbulence, heat, and probably life.

* Note about the video: “CRANE”, DVD, 2 minutes.

Crane is about motion, about how movement transfers through friction, and about heat and friction as generators of life
