ARTIST STATEMENT
Dress the fabrics of eternity

First, the sheet is blank, then comes the design, and finally the color. I love satin, so these works were conceived with the idea of seeing them on clothing, but the most important thing was to be faithful to the public and, especially, to myself. I am therefore giving the best I can in the most sincere manner, for it comes from the deepest part of my heart.

I use symbols that reflect life’s most important elements. Bubbles that bring to mind the cells that represent life, you can see in them the air bubbles that form when you dive underwater. They are the multicolored planets of the Amarian Galaxy. The sensations are reproduced on paper to create pictures and share my happiness. Ideas brought back from Los Angeles, Agadir, Istanbul, Budapest or Tahiti, travels that allow me to draw from continuously renewed sources of inspiration.

Influenced by the Mediterranean flavors in my blood, I mix ingredients that are (overall) light in tone and free of darkness. I’ll remind you that I was angry with black, that marvelous color, for 17 years and that now that I have reconciled with it, I invite you to travel in my universe, a garden of love where peace and brotherhood reign. I need not remind you that it’s something we all need.

I paint alone in my studios in Tunis and Paris, in the calm far from the hustle and bustle, even if it gets more and more difficult to isolate oneself nowadays. In this way I give my artistic nature free rein and dive into a world in which God is color for creating pictures that are balanced and full of brightness.
