DIVERTED DESTRUCTION 3

liz | July 22nd, 2010 | Artists, past shows | Comments Off on DIVERTED DESTRUCTION 3

The day started off with the Inaugural “Found Object Workshop” where art walkers and  artists showing in Diverted Destruction Part 3 created one of a kind pieces of art from bottle caps, discarded hardware, Waialua Soda Works cardboard packs, (thanks for the donation of soda, too!) and other recyclable items! Artists included, Joan Robey, Annemarie Rawlinson, Frank Miller, Rani Laik and June Diamond. Liz had so much fun she has decided to make this an annual event during Diverted Destruction! We hope you did too and to see you soon!

The Found Object Workshop was followed by the Diverted Destruction Part 3 Artist Talk and panel discussion. Liz was joined by exhibiting artists: Ching Ching Cheng, Annemarie Rawlinson, Frank Miller, Dave Lovejoy, June Diamond, Richard Turner, Rani Laik and Joan Robey.  All artists in this show have completely different styles, yet most share the same reasons for working in this medium; they raise awareness of the need to recycle, help save the planet, and hope they inspire others to do so as well!  All amazingly gifted artists, they create masterpieces which become even more valuable because of the reasons behind the creativity.

After the artist talk, Liz was joined by KCRW DJ, native Angeleno, MojaMoja.com after party Host AND Otis alum, Garth Trinidad! Garth’s first love is art and he shared this with Liz and a bit more, so please stay tuned!

“Art was always my path until radio seduced me. As an Otis College alum, I’ve been pining to re-immerse myself into the visual arts. Participating in the Miracle Mile Art Walk is certainly a step in the right direction.” Garth Trinidad

THE MIRACLE MILE ART WALK AFTER PARTY SPONSORED BY THE MOJA MOJA.COM
