ARTIST STATEMENT
Seeking patterns is human nature, from the caveman distilling the mysteries of the hunt, the child seeing animals in the clouds, the naturalist studying tree formation, to the abstract painter correlating colors with musical rhythm. Entropy, death, or the destruction of pattern, is the antithesis of life. The depth and scale of the investigation make up the artistic dialogue.  I marvel at nature’s patterns, from the microscopic way glass molecules flow or crystallize to the macroscopic way of how the negative space around a tree can flatten out to identify the object. Pattern seeking is my artistic impulse.
